A traditional British village pub and not a restaurant serving traditional pub food. Dogs and walkers welcome. Log-burners in the bar and lounge as well as a great garden area where you can enjoy the views of The Derwent Valley World Heritage Site  

Food  outside opening:

A simplified offer comprising a choice of sharer platters with optional side orders of fries.

Cheese: brie wedges, camembert bites, mozzarella sticks and jalapeno bites

Fish: Wholetail scampi, cod goujons, calamari rings and salmon bites

Spicy: Onion Bhajis, vegetable samosas, lamb samosas and chicken balti samosas


Whole baked camembert with crusty rustic bread for either 1 or 2

 Each and every guest 16 and over must check-in prior to table service -Anyone refusing to check in will be asked to leave

NHS QR code or paper registration  on each and every visit please- Remember we don't make the rules but can get fined if not adhering to guidance

We do not take any bookings but any guests will have an option to dine without booking in advance during food service hours if a table is available

We are a small and local village pub and are operating a first come first served system with prior booking not available

From April 12th 2021 our outside garden area will be open for seated guests only. If the weather is warmer we will obviously open later

From Monday 19th hours until open inside will be:

Monday and Tuesday Closed

Wed-Fri 4-9 food 5-7

Sat 12-9 food 12-2 and 5-7

Sun 12-9 food 12-3

The food offer is simply a choice of sharers, whole baked camembert or skin on fries until back inside
